MANEY MUSIC

      My name is Chris Maney. I was born on the day of October 18, 1990. On the island of Honolulu, Hawaii. Although I was born in Hawaii, I've lived in North Carolina for most of my life. 

      Composing music for string, and full orchestras has been an important part of my life ever since I was the age of three. When I was three years old I began playing drums due to being a fan of the Hanson Brothers.

       Since I began playing drums, I was very familliar with rythyms, and subdividing each individual measure in a piece. My sixth grade year, I joined orchestra. I picked up the cello very easily, and showed everyone how much I loved to play, by practicing every time I had the chance. Even in classes I would find some reason to perform for my class. Instantly, teachers recognized me. I was the short boy who loved music, and eventually became "The Music Man."

       Through the years I began picking up the other string instruments, recognizing their part, if they were harmony, or melody. It amazed me! Especially the harmony. I suddenly became interested in composing for string orchestra when my grandpa bought me a composition software, I could write in the parts, and amazingly, it would play back! It was music to my ears. Growing up, I began advancing myself, writing for full orchestras, which is where string, and band instruments where combined.
